Supported Applications: In order to print high quality and high resolution CD, we require all CD artwork to be created in the following Vector programs. Please note any CD artwork created in PhotoShop (Bitmap program) is not suitable for printing.

  • Quark Express
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe PageMaker
  • Adobe PhotoShop (For editing pictures, Import into Illustrator when finished.)
  • Macromedia Freehand
  • Corel Draw

Film: MUST be film positive, right reading, and emulsion side up.

Crop Marks: Include center mark and North, South, East and West crop marks and center art in 6" X 6" film – color should be specified on each film plate

Color: If possible Spot color is recommended, but CMYK is also accepted. NOTE: CMYK is more costly and longer turn around. If spot color can satisfy your requirements, please submit your art in spot (PMS) color rather than CMYK.

Screen Angles: Screen angles should be output as: Yellow = 0,
Magenta = 75, Cyan = 15, Black = 135.

White Background Donut: White background is used as a base, usually with four-color process where it will make the color appear more like the proof. A white donut is a customer preference. If you require a white background, you must create a separate film plate for the donut (must be the same size as your CD art). Include this with your file. (Use original dimensions of CD and create a black fill, with stacking ring dimensions 32mm – 36mm knocked out.

Artwork with Half-tone screen tints and vignette guidelines: The dot density of screen tints and vignettes should be limited to between 15% and 85% and elliptical dot.

Electronic Files: Include all fonts, screen fonts and printer fonts. Include all linked images: EPS, or TIF. Make sure all linked images are in the correct image mode. Images should be converted to CYMK (four-color process) or SPOT COLOR (PMS color with number). Reference Line, Font, and Trap chart (see reverse side of page).

Resolution: All photo images or bitmap images should be saved at 300 dpi.

Film Output: 85 LPI for spot color (PMS) jobs and 100 LPI for 4-color process output at 2400 DPI

Film should be right reading, emulsion up (RREU).

Proofs: All four-color process jobs require a color proof (Color Key or Matchprint) made from each plate of film. Black and white Laser separations are required on all jobs.

IF YOUR ARTWORK AND FILM IS NOT CORRECT IT WILL DELAY YOUR CD-ROM JOB
